The Scribe who took a long hibernation and ascended

I have been meaning to write something for quite sometime. As i was traversing through my bunch of unfinished drafts i was kinda exhausted not only at the sheer volume of posts but also on the lazy aspect which has taken over me when i am writing something on a hot streak.

I have been meaning to post something monumental since i finished playing Assassins creed 3 last year or as soon as i finished watching Dredd 3D and also when Manchester united got KOed of the champions league in an awesome match which was like a slap to Fergie's red nose but alas i have missed all the chances to scribble something. I didn't even follow my usual routine of youtube videos as well.

The trademark which marked this year has been my persistent attention to detail at work and my complete transformation to out and out workaholic and as i roll back the years gone by and ponder how i used to be and how much i have come back on this aspect of my life. It really feels exalting to the extent of giving me goosebumps. From the guy who was looking for proxy links to post about college, life at cognizant and all the random stuff which pissed me off it really feels amazing not to take that downtrodden path i visit every once in a while on this blog so far this year. So far Venki 1 Bitching 0.

Life is awesome and i am kind of looking for a new pen name to signify the ascension. Being an avid fan of DBZ and Naruto manga can't help but follow that pattern to some extent on my posting. Also on the aspect of reading I did manage to wrap my head around the new Dan brown's Inferno as much as a good page turner it turned out to be. The ending of the book was such a downer and also it was too obvious to know what the twist was which made me ponder if this really is the aspect of being old and all knowing kicking in, although i don't complain on the aspect it was a good half day read after a long time of reading Hadoop definitive guides, Java Server Faces , Node.js and Ajax. Either ways i refuse to accept the fact that I am aging and still hold true to my theory that life as a kid was so simple!!!

To sum up things concisely i could say i am kicking ass this year and can certainly say Ascension complete!!

As usual i will leave you with this.

We've a second video because i think Dredd was the best movie i saw in the entire last year. Sure enough people say its a B movie but it was awesome. If you have nothing going on a friday evening rent it out. I can say you will not regret it.

PS: On the topic of the pseudonym I think I got the name i was looking for.

I am the Judge...Jury and the executioner... I am Dredd so long Mclovin!!!!!!

Missouri Diaries - 8 years and running

I just realized it's been that long of an ordeal since i started scribbling on this page, this page started out for one reason and turned out to be for another reason and its miraculously making itself onto the eighth year somehow.

I miss the blogging circle i started with, but after a while trying to read too many blogs became little too much and as a matter of fact life had some other priorities as well and also from the time i started grad school this page has been the vent out for the introspective personality change which happened to me, til this day it beats me how i totally became an ultimate ambivert type of a person its like flipping a switch i can go from the extroverted to introverted attribute just like that.

As for the year in retrospect like i usually ponder in retrospect, its been an fantastic year for me personally, its very hard for this year to match up the excitement with which 2011 ended, i thought 2011 was the best year in the past decade or so but 2012 came out like the Dark knight to Batman begins can't help but pull out the batman reference if you're bored of that you can correlate it to Terminator 2, Godfather 2, Brian Lara's 400 it became the sequel which surpassed the successful prequel to it. (I can't believe i made a cricket reference after such a long time)

There were surprises, there were milestones, there was thoughtfulness and most importantly the inspiration which turned me something else towards the end of the year. Everyone needs inspiration and i certainly found mine from a coffee shop and i certainly have to thank my RockNRoll Queen for that, writing this post made me nostalgic in so many ways and also admiring how fast the web evolved and how much less work i have to do to get this blog up and running compared to what it used to be previously.

I feel disgusted reading the short hand type fashion i used in my earlier posts 8 years ago which looked very hippy during that point of time and so i realized definition of being a hipster evolves constantly and I realize surely am one even though i deny on some aspects of not being one. Well the biggest highlight last year being my quick silver (From Germany with Love) my car of course and how i realized that good things do happen to the most persevering (kind of sucks with the long wait but it sure feels ecstatic trust me!)

I have a feeling this year is going to be, wait for it, wait for it. Legnedarrrryyyyyy!!!! surely it can be third time lucky right?

As of now i leave you with this.

PS: If you have 5.1 you should listen to this in the surround sound if not amp it out to the max and listen to it trust me,  Next up a very detailed AC3 review and in case i haven't exclaimed here It was Amazing!!

Rise.....

That's how a trilogy really should end.

It was 7 hours of marathon of Dark Knight trilogy. I got home at 3.30 AM and eventually ended up sleeping at 5.30 and then I had an entire day of work and still didn't have a wink of sleep with huge rush of adrenaline from watching the finale which is still driving me. Is it worth the trouble? Hells Yeah.

As per my rough estimate I watched Batman Begins for the 10th time and the Dark Knight for the 12th time (which equates to 2 full days of  watching it)  the thing which amazed me when i was watching them again every dialogue in the first 2 movies stil sends that tingle up the spine.

This scene still blows my mind away.

This well and truly shows what the caped crusader really stands for.

When the 3rd movie started in the theatre and Bane was running riot for the first 30 minutes in the movie I could really feel the tension in the theatre so much you could really put a knife through it because everyone was anticipating when Batman would enter the fray. The movie went hyper drive when we least expected it.

It was truly a spectacular scene when he comes out guns blazing, the scene which bought a shed of tear in my eyes when the police officer remarks to his deputy. Oh Boy! You're in for a show son!

I love the references Nolan brings about in the movie which makes the comic book reader really happy and Hans Zimmer's track initially wasn't so much attractive at first until it started to grow on me to the current point my head is buzzing with this chant.

I noticed that movie drew strong inspiration from Arkham City ( The Final war was epic sequence in itself) and also felt it was line by line adaptation of Dark Knight rises by Frank miller barring the villains and the other minor plot elements. Nolan did a fantastic job of completing the story real amazingly putting all the pieces together to complete this masterpiece.

I am pretty sure I am going to watch the movie again at-least two more times. I wonder if another movie on Batman can be again be made on this caliber again. I hardly doubt it,  I have to go on a Batman hiatus for now until the sequel to Arkham city comes out again.

As usual I leave you with my favorite track of them all.

PS: I wanted to make quick draw mcgraw stylish post but I didn't think it was going to delve onto a rather serious note.

Workaholic

Probably the most intriguing title i had until today. I know it doesn't sound quite like me sadly it's true. Been working my socks off these past 2 weeks and eventually getting to the phase where I call it settling nicely on my groove. I find it hard to believe i didn't touch either of my consoles for a span of 2 weeks (to play games i mean I do use it to watch Netflix and Amazon Instant video on it).

I am writing this on the backdrop of the disappointing end to the campaign for the English Football team. I was hoping for another miraculous semifinal appearance. I feel gutted but I won't delve into more Football in this posting. I SWEAR. I Won't.

In a surprising turn of events I paid a visit to a Comic Book store. I was very impressed with the collection they had. For once I was totally clueless as to which comic book I ought to buy. I came about after finding that I cannot buy Tintin again. Tintin collection seems to be as dead as a DODO with respect to US book stores which startled me quite a bit.

Coming back to the decision which made me confuse. The second reason of my confusion happened to be the choice of finding the starting point to collect my Batman comic collection. Finally after a confusing trance which lasted for a mere 40 minutes (My entire grocery shopping hardly takes 20 minutes) I got these.

Dark Knight Returns

Killing Joke

The Court of Owls

Ever since I finished reading The Long Halloween. I wanted to read the Killing Joke because of the critical acclaim generated by the comic. I was traversing through the preface it had the excerpts from the interviews by Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan. With Tim Burton going to say that if he ever wanted to start a Batman comic collection he would start from there. Plus the story is written by Alan Moore. I had no qualms about picking that one.

The Dark Knight returns was no surprise as the the movie is slated to be released in a span of 3 weeks. I have  a hunch that there could be the plot elements from this book which could be the core for Nolan's finale. Check.

As I was checking out the books at the counter. The store person pointed me to the Court of Owls stating that this is the latest reboot and after playing Arkham City inside out and judging from the plot clues of the Arkham city I think these elements from this comics could be a vital element for the next Arkham game.  Plus that was a hard cover with a very nifty discount on it. Almost pried it from the shop keeper's hands.

As i was talking to him. The owner of the store was rather sad and told me that people buying comics books have dwindled significantly and we always look at the bright side of technology. Ebooks and Comic book readers etc but there is always the concept of two sides to the coin. I wish everyone could make their own luck like Two Face does. I felt rather guilty because my lingering feeling that I could be one of those guys who inadvertently causes that effect. I ended up leaving the shop with lower spirits compared to the gust of energy with which i entered on.

Life always has two sides to every coin doesn't it?

PS: Can anyone tell me why they play this at the Euro? Oh well can't resist adding this.

Hello Nathan Drake!!

Finally got my hands on the PS3 and delving into the Uncharted territory right away.

First thoughts. I think rendering of the game by PS3 is astoundingly brilliant and the transition of the controls is very smooth because the layout is the same way as my 360 controller but kind of icky about the controller because 360 controller is much bigger on size and more comfy to use. but I was left gasping when i played the initial levels of Uncharted 2.

Heck I have a long weekend ahead to analyze it even more. Kratos has to go in waiting list for now until I am done with Drake.

As usual I leave you with this.

Adios Kenny

King Kenny thanks for the wonderful times in your brief albeit second stint. It's your signings which led to your downfall and most importantly the Anfield fortress has become a laughing stock this season.

Carling cup was worth the wait. Thanks for the bringing back the cup which i think could be the precursor to better things to follow.

On a different note. I tried to break away from the pattern of the Football related posts of late probably the only obsession which is driving me right now. I have a different pattern of thought process which i will elaborate on when i see you next time.

Until Next time!

Grandest Finale Ever

Even as a veteran of watching a decade of EPL seasons this Survival Sunday gave me a panic attack. 9 games concurrently. Manchester city defined all odds. As Martin Tyler rightly pointed out "We will never see something like this ever again,". Manchester city did a Manchester united to win the title. Aguero's strike still reverberating in my vision in an endless for loop.

I wanted to add a little touch to the tale of this wonderful season. First switching my focus to the Los Blancos who scored a century of points. 100/114 points is a herculean feat. I hardly doubt even Real madrid would be able to top that come next season. Real played like champions all season and netting 121 goals in the process. I was on cloud 121 when Ozil ran the closing curtains with Brace. I am proud about what Mourinho has done after years of lurking in Barcelona's shadows madrid rose like a phoenix. (Even the most hardest of Barcelona fans would've to admit that Madrid were the better side). To me Madrid had the best ever counter attacking football among the European contingency despite the fact that they are out of the champions league. (Hoping Khedira and Ozil take it up the next level in Euros and I am flaunting my #10 Madrid Jersey in pride)

On Serie A same success story Juventus made the headlines for all the right reasons this time. Etching their name on the list of Invincibles to win the tournament. Alessandro Del Piero should be an embodiment to the current set of players in Europe right now.

It's going to be tough 3 months without Football for me. Thankfully Euro will make it not that much of a wait for me. On the other side I am hoping Blues will add another glory to EPL by winning champions league this season.

My players of the Season.

PREMIER LEAGUE: Vincent Kompany (Well and truly the wall backing City's offense took the game by the collar against United), Robin Van Persie (Only difference between Arsenal and Liverpool is him) and Luis Suarez (Anfield Sensation lost count of all his nutmegs and for all the right reasons).
BUNDESLIGA: Matt Hummels (BVB09)
LA LIGA: CR7 (Scored against all teams and his lightning bolts cannot be scored by Messi..Period!), Mesut Ozil (No wonder why kaka and sahin were on bench all season), Javi Martinez (Would love to see him in Liverpool colors), Mascherano (Barcelona would've been even poorer in defense if not for him this season)
SERIE A: Del Piero, Pirlo &  Ibrahmovic ( I haven't seen much of other games to really put a list out on SERIE A except that last month or so)

El Pistelero

Arguably the best dribbler in premier league right now. I was left gasping when that insane 50 yard strike went onto the back of the net.  El Pistelero (aka The Gunslinger) welcome to the Liverpool hat-trick club.

All season you've shown glimpses. Today you just went berserk on a killing spree. Take a bow. He is our # 007. The Name is Suarez. Luis Suarez!!
